The Davis County Health Department or DCHD use their resources to develop and carry out improvement plans for its unique community. The importance of a healthy life-style is projected through their initiatives and allow the community to thrive. The community benefits when an attempt to reduce harmful behaviors and unhealthy habits from its community members. The health initiatives driven by the DCHD promote a health life-style by focusing on reducing suicide, obesity and air population and increasing access to mental health resources.  Community Characteristics  The community of Davis County is a strip of land along Utah™s Wasatch Front, just east of the Great Salt Lake. It is a suburban community that is noted as the smallest county in the state of Utah.  Davis county is an area of 635 square miles but only 223 square miles are usable land. The community of Davis County is very young with the median community member being  29 years old. The community population is 90% white ethnicity, 75% of the community are of the Latter-day Saint religion and 80% of the community members are registered Republicans (2018).
