Within this paper, you will learn of behavioral and social challenges facing me within my instructional setting relating to students on the autism spectrum, how I incorporate my personal philosophy of curriculum into the design and development of curriculum to address these students on the autism spectrum in my instructional setting, and my justifications for doing so. Additionally, you will learn how I would incorporate the social-efficiency ideology into the design and development of curriculum to address the behavioral and social challenges (i.e., exceptional needs) of students on the autism spectrum in my instructional setting and my justifications for doing so. I have included both my personal philosophy of education and a detailed accounting of my instructional setting for reference. Teaching has been a passion of mine for as long as I can recall.
