It was also once used to make rocket fuel. The Zantac lawsuit is found because of a cancer-causing chemical that was put into the medication by Sanofi which is a manufacture for medications. The law has taken this medication off the shelves and have stated it is forbidden to be sold on market due to the chemical that was found. First, the Zantac lawsuit is based off a chemical that was found in the medication called Nitrosodimethylamine or NDMA which is a B2 carcinogen or probable human carcinogen. Zantac is a risk to public health because of the increased concerns of the cancer-causing ingredients within it. NDMA is an environmental contaminant found in water along with meat, dairy, and vegetables. The FDA has issued for all drug stores such as Walmart, Walgreens and CVS to take them off the shelves. Also NDMA was found in different types of medication and not just Zantac such as blood pressure medication and heart failure medicines. Second, the Zantac lawsuit is an ongoing investigation that is still going on. Every medication that had NDMA in it got pulled off the shelves so that no one would be at risk for cancer.
