It provides better accessibility, security and better opportunity. There are two main routes of virtualization which is remote and local, each having its own uniqueness and how it can be used in a business environment.   Remote virtualization typically runs off a centralized server where a virtual desktop can be deployed from and can work on different devices such as a computer, a smart phone or a thin client device. Thin client devices store information within a centralized server as well, opposed to a physical localized hard drive. In contrast to remote virtualization, local virtualization runs off a physical system where all the work and data is done with the systems hardware.   Using remote virtualization in the office will allow users to access their work on different devices, from anywhere, if they have access to the server where the information is being stored through a VPN. How can that improve the training methods of our IT staff within the organization? This will allow them to access their work from home if its necessary, and allows them to work anywhere within the building or organization and still have access to the same data as the staff working on their personal work computers.   With remote virtualization, there is potential for better data security within the company.
