It is used to manage access of different components on the computer. Examples of these components are the memory access, CPU access, plus disk and network I/O access. Hypervisor allows multiple operating systems to be installed on the same hardware and allows the operating systems to run together at the same time. Hyper-V is not enabled by default on a system and instead must be installed manually. Once enabled, as the system boots up, Hyper-V will load automatically before the operating system loads. There are a few parameters that need to be met to successfully run Hyper-V: a CPU that is compatible with SLAT, hardware-assisted virtualization needs to be enabled and there needs to be enough RAM. There are two ways to create a new virtual machine in Hyper-V: one is to use Hyper-V manager and the other is the use of PowerShell cmdlets. Using Hyper-V manager, select the desired server to use and right click to select New then Virtual machine. This will prompt the New Virtual Machine Wizard. Create a name for the virtual machine then decide where to store the configuration file; by default, it will be stored in a location that Hyper-V configured.
