SURVEY OF WORLD HISTORY Task 4.docx    SURVEY OF WORLD HISTORY Task 4  A-The American Revolution started after the British government and their Victory of the Seven Year war. One of the biggest factors for the colonists was their lack of representation in Parliament and how they put it “taxation without representation”. The colonies request for representation was rejected declaring itself as the supreme power with lawmaking body and continued to tax the colonies without representation.  The Seven Year War was a financial hardship for the country. Parliament went after the American colonies for the debt incurred, believing they were not paying their fair share which lead to new taxes on the Colonies. This led to the 13 Colonies to rebel against the British Government. During the war the British soldiers treated the colonist as “inferiors.” In addition, extra taxes where imposed on them like the Stamp Act which taxed paper goods, the Townshend Duties. Which led to the colonist requesting more representation in Parliament, that was denied. This colonies each had a political system, although they all have similarities to Englands system. There was little British involvement on the day to day runnings, its involvement was mainly the management of the foreign and trade policies. Unlike Spain which the crown financed its expansion and colonization of Central and South America, the financing for the British colonies came from a series of public-private partnerships.
