Survey of World History Task 1 (B).docx Survey of World History Task 1 (B) Similarities and differences between Mesopotamia and Egypt. The similarities of Mesopotamia and Egypts civilizations are, the agricultural elements which included many components in common. Such as, the future of both relied heavily on the vastness of their river to be plentiful to ensure the success of their crops. Both civilizations formed near river valleys, around the same time period and in relatively close proximity to each other. (Acrobatiq, 2017) To transport the water from the rivers to the crops, irrigation systems were constructed. (Halfond, I, 2013) The cultivation was done by sharecroppers, which were controlled by the elite families that controlled each citys temple (Neeman, Z.2017). The outlook and perception of their gods were also influenced by the civilizations agriculture. The direct connection to the effects of each ones agriculture, the influence on the culture and the direct correlation to each civilizations future is additional commonality. While there are many similarities to the agriculture of Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt there are also things that set these two cultures apart. Mesopotamia was between two rivers the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. These rivers were very unpredictable most years the flooding rivers would recede and leave sedimentation in the ground that was good for farming.
