The fourth action is salary reduction. Here, one-third of the officer™s basic salary is reduced for about three months. On a similar note, the officerfound guilty of disciplinary charges may face restitution where his or her salary will be deducted for a period and used to compensate for the offense (Andreescu et al., 2012). The sixth disciplinary action is rank reduction. Rank reduction encompasses reducing the authority of the officer to a lower level.
