Journal_Entries__week_3.docx    Week 3 Journal Entries  Grand Canyon University: LDR-462-0503  Monday, 9/14/2020 -9am-11am  Off from work today so after I made sure my kids were ok with their virtual learning, I spent my morning reviewing correspondence from parents regarding the first week of school. Seems that the majority didn™t have any issue with the online platforms but has questions about how meetings were going to be run, such as back to school night.  Discussed with other board members and we reached out to administration for guidance.  I was also able to finally post a flyer with out first fundraiser and have it emailed to the parents.  Tuesday, 9/15/2020- 11am-1pm  My last day off and then I am working a 3 day stretch, so I decided to reach out to administration regarding the feedback PTA had received from parents in regard to the social emotional issues of virtual learning. Not all was negative, but there are still many children that are struggling with not being able to socialize at lunch, or after school.  Together, the board members and I came up with a few suggestions for the building principles to see if we could somehow get small groups together outside either for lunch or after school and possibly coordinate some kind of acceptable activity.    Our children have been back to school, well sort of, for 2 weeks now.  I was hoping that for the most part they would be resilient as many always say children are.  While many kids are adjusting and developing a new routine, many are discouraged
