Although the exact cause of eating disorders is unknown some contributing factors may include environmental, psychological and emotional issues, as well as biology.   Eating Disorders  Eating disorders in adolescent girls from diverse racial and cultural experiences.  One thing that marks adolescence is self-criticism.
