In this paper, the theory of ethical egoism is discussed and how it plays a role in the ethical and unethical behavior among law enforcements. This will provide insight on how egoism influence the behaviors of police officers and how they perform their duties (Banks, 2020).  Ethical Egoism  In egoism, an egoist puts their own well-being and self-interest above others. If they consider or think of others, it is only because it benefits them. There are two types of theories of egoism. One of the theories is psychological egoism. It is theorized that everyone is an egoist because any actions we make, it is inspired by how it can benefit us (Banks, 2020).
