Egoism within the criminal justice system taints the integrity of the system and creates a space for biasness and corruption within the system (Banks, 2020). In this paper, the theory of ethical egoism is discussed and how it plays a role in the ethical and unethical behavior among law enforcements. This will provide insight on how egoism influence the behaviors of police officers and how they perform their duties (Banks, 2020).  Ethical Egoism  In egoism, an egoist puts their own well-being and self-interest above others.
