C489Task3.docx  C489  Organizational Systems and Quality Leadership  Task 3  Healthcare Financing  Western Governors University  Healthcare Financing  Access to healthcare seems as common sense as having the right to an education; however, in the U.S., millions of people struggle with healthcare coverage.  The rising costs of healthcare in the U.S. can be detrimental to its citizens.  In no other country is there as much controversy about reducing healthcare costs.  One may infer that steep costs for healthcare lead to better results; however, the U.S. does not fare as well in comparison in infant mortality, longevity, and in areas of heart disease and diabetes.  The U.S. ranks among one of the costliest when compared to Great Britain, Japan, Germany, and Switzerland.  An overview of the U.S. healthcare system will be compared to Japans health care system.    A1.
