In this day in age, our legal system is ever changing towards the social and technological advances we observe every day. To ensure legal representation continues to uphold the highest of standards, these model rules contained in the reading and study materials must be emphasized regularly throughout the legal system. All model rules must be interpreted with the correct amount of research and references to ensure the proper representation of the law itself. Overall, these rules “define proper conduct for the purposes of professional discipline” throughout our entire legal system. [1] Correspondingly, the rules governing meritorious claims, and contentions, as well as expediting litigation and candor towards the tribunal are precise in their respective categories. Meritorious claims and contention specifically deal with the concept that a lawyer should never intervene or defend a proceeding unless there are grounds and legality towards doing so.
