PSY104 Week 3 Journal

I look back at how my mom was raised and she had told me that if they (her and her siblings) got in trouble that my grandpa would take them out to the milking house and use the switch or belt on their butt.  This is the way it was done back them.  My grandpa and grandma had said that is how they received their discipline too.  I was horrified at this when my mom would say, “Do you want the belt like I did?”  She never did use it, Thank God!  She actually had made a promise to break that disciplinary issue when she had decided to raise my siblings and me.  I can honestly say that I do not ever remember getting spanked.  My mom was a very positive person and would sit down and talk to us.  You knew that she was upset with you, but she handled it with positive reinforcement.
