IT283__Unit_3_Assignment.docx IPv4 and IPv6 Routing Purdue University Global Part 1: 1.In the textbook “Guide to TCP/IPâ€, individuals can see the differences and similarities between the Ethernet II and the Ethernet 802.2 LLC frame structure. An Ethernet II and Ethernet 802.2 LLC frame can be anywhere from a minimum of 64 bytes to a maximum of 1,518 bytes. In an Ethernet II frame, the Preamble is 8 bytes long, the Destination Address field 6 bytes long and shows the data link address, the Source Address field is 6 bytes long, indicating the senders hardware address. The type field is 2 bytes long indicating the protocol used. Ethernet 802.2 LLC includes some of the same fields of Ethernet II but it has unique differences such as the differences in length preamble being 7 bytes long. Fields unique to Ethernet 802.2 LLC include Start Field Diameter field, Length field, Destination Service Access Point field, Source Service Access Point field and Control field. The difference between Type field and the SAP field is that the Type field indicates the protocol being used and the SAP field shows the protocol upcoming.
