The one question many people will ask is what makes a good leader. There are many different viewpoints over the years that have been used to develop the meaning of leadership (Northouse, 2018). The one area that remains important is how a leader will lead to have a positive impact in the organization. A leader will either have a positive or a negative effect on everyone in the organization. A successful leader will show by the way they lead. This can be done by the leader being able to use the correct leadership skills and to continue to learn and grow to become an excellent leader.   Personal Definition of Leadership  When I first started this class, I had a good understanding on what a leader is, but throughout this course I have gain more knowledge of the different styles of leadership that I was not aware of when I first started this class. My first definition of leadership in Unit 1 was “A leader will influence a group of individuals to achieve a goal for the business” (Moore, 2020). I do believe that a person can learn to be a leader that it is not just something that someone is born with.
