PM FPX4040 Assignmnent 6.docx PM-FPX4040 Instructions: Conflict PM-FPX4040: HR & Motivation Management Capella University Analyzing Approaches, Pros, and Cons Abdication/Avoiding Using the abdication resolution approach is by far the worst approach to use. Abdication means avoiding. As a leader, avoiding an issue will only lead to the conflict getting worse without the proper guidance for the team members. The only pro about using abdication is that it will give you extra time to think about resolving the issue (Lazier, 2017). Mediation Using the mediation resolution approach is by having another individual present with the team members who have the issue. The mediator helps them come to a resolution for the issue (Mind Tools Content Team, 2017). A con of mediation is that it is not always appropriate for certain situations (Mind Tools Content Team, 2017). Delegation Using the delegation approach, the leader or manager is simply assigning work to the team members. More like splitting the workload up to relieve stress from the team members. This gives responsibility to each member so that there would be no conflict on who has to do what task (9 Tips to Become a More Effective Delegator, 2014). A pro of delegation is that everyone can focus on the outcome without another team member trying to push the task onto another
