This implies that some people cannot acquire the medical services they need to stay healthy. Therefore, leading to the opening of a gateway of other secondary problems associated with lack of healthcare. A sufficient supply of health services must be available to ensure that everyone has access to medical cover. The opportunity to acquire health care when desired or needed falls under this facet of health care access. One of the main causes of limited access to healthcare is insurance cover. The greatest barrier to medical care access is a lack of insurance cover or too expensive insurance cover premium plans. Paying directly for medical care expenditures may cause consumers to delay or avoid needed care such as consultation and prescriptions which may lead to medical debt. This delayed needed care may cause a long-term problem for the patient to involve. Also, limited access to healthcare can causes diseases which require earlier attention to go unnoticed. Diseases such as cancer require a patient to be diagnosed early for them to be treated. Therefore, limited access to healthcare can make one miss the diagnosis and the cancer cell to keep growing.
