I have been there since 2013 and last year was the first time I did my evaluation. I am still waiting to hear my manager opinion. Our department is in major need of a few job evaluations. I am listed in our phone directory as a HR Office Coordinator, but in our payroll system I am listed as a Payroll Coordinator. For the organization, a job evaluation can help the organization to implement effective salary structures and grow efficiently (ROOT,2019). It is important to note that a job evaluation evaluates jobs (e.g., marketing manager, financial analyst) and not the people in those jobs(Harris,2007) . Let™s take a closer look at the three methods used for job evaluating such as ranking, classification, and point method. The ranking method is the most easiest noncomplex method. It may seem biased as a direct person is responsible for evaluating. (Hart,2017) Here are a few important steps in the ranking method: â—Ordering - it™s best to list all current positions, the main job functions, put in order according to rank from most to least important. â—Comparison - this is another form of ranking.
