In this paper, we will discuss visual information processing, what it is, and how it works. What is Visual Information Processing & How Does It Work According to "Visual Information Processing / Perceptual Assessment"(2020),Visual information processing is the ability to interpret what is seen. It is vision that directs action. Good visual information processing means being able to quickly and accurately process and analyze what is being seen and store it in visual memory for later recall (Para. 1).According to "Vision: Processing Information"(2012), Vision begins with light passing through the cornea and the lens, which combine to produce a clear image of the visual world on a sheet of photoreceptors called the retina (Para. 2). This image is reversed like a camera. Objects above the center project towards the bottom and objects below the center project toward the top.
