C850 Emerging Technologies - FXP1 Task 1.docx  TechFite, a company that makes medical devices for the space program, is searching for new solutions to accommodate their growing business. There are concerns by management about current security measures and there is a need to plan for future growth in the United States and potentially other countries including the European Union. TechFite will have to comply with all security, privacy and data storage implications of working in the European Union. The company will need to store current and future log files from all equipment and servers to a secure place where they can be analyzed in real-time to detect and prevent attacks as they happen. They also need to comply with FISMA (Federal Information Security Modernization Act) which is the “Department of Homeland Securitys role in administering the implementation of information security policies for federal Executive Branch civilian agencies, overseeing agencies compliance with those policies, and assisting OMB in developing those policies.” (DHS, 2018)  With the limited budget that TechFite has, I agree that open source software would be the right choice for the log aggregation. Graylog looks like it would be a great fit for their needs.
