This topic is important to the audience because changing from a traditional calendar to year round creates a greater chance for student achievement and job satisfaction for faculty. Due to the fact that this is such a huge task, the audience needs to be convinced that the benefits would outway the cost and difficulty of the needed changes.  Introduction:  •There is a misconception that when students go back to school after summer break they go right into new and exciting material, but in most cases the opposite is true. Most of the time teachers spend nearly the entire first month on review (Cooper, 1996). This leads to a time crunch that isn't beneficial for teachers or students.
