The content obtained in the interview are key to patient diagnostics. The four interview techniques used in this comprehensive health assessment were non-verbal communication, guided questioning, summarizing, and transitions. Non-verbal communication is important as it may represent underlying feelings and emotions. Clinicians who are in tune with nonverbal communication can sense the patients feelings and attitudes. Clinicians in tune with their own non-verbal communication are aware of messages they may or may not be sending to the patient in turn improving a more open and trusting relationship. Guided questioning allows for expanding and clarifying of the patients answers (Bickley, n.d.). This form of communication allows the clinician to draw more information from the patient. Summarizing as a form of communication, enables the clinician to repeat what has been heard from the patient to ensure the information has been interpreted correctly and provides the patient with reassurance they were being listened to. Using transitions in communication provides and explanation of what is going to take place before it happens. Using transitions makes the patient feel more relaxed and comfortable during the assessment. Justification of Questions Related to Health & Healthcare Ques
