When responding to Mr. Newcombs request, asking me to be dishonest with his wife, my heart sank, placing me in this position is an unfortunate request from someone to ethically and morally go against what he clearly knows is inappropriate. When responding to Mr. Newcomb I will be aware of all sensitivities including my own. My response to Mr. Newcomb is to decline in assisting in this endeavor, and while I realize that it is not my responsibility to give an explanation as to why not, I do believe it is my responsibility to assist Mr. Newcomb in understanding why his request is inappropriate, in hopes that he will not compromise one of my coworkers ethics. My response to Mr. Newcomb is as follows: “Unfortunately, Mr Newcomb, I am here for not only your personal care, but I am also here and have created a relationship with your wife and in doing so I am unable to take part in that request. While I realize this is an important task for you to accomplish, I cannot help you.
