The intake and assessment is to gather significant information such as the background and current state of client. The assessment will determine the services that are needed; mental health treatment, drug treatment, educational, housing and/or job placement. The programs decided upon will be based on the strengths and weaknesses of the client, the short term and long term goals will be put in place, and the treatment plan. This is where a relationship is established between client and case manager.
