CPMGT302_Week5_Team3_Procurement_and_Risk_Management__1_.docx  CPMGT302  Procurement and Risk Management  Team 3  CPMGT302  Tools and Techniques that have been used      Several of the tools and techniques that were taught in this course have been used in my current position. To identify project risks, we have used brainstorming and lessons learned along with subject matter experts. Once this has been done, we used a risk register to document the risks. We also had a change management process in place for the inevitable requests from stakeholders to change some aspect of the project. The tools and techniques used for procuring materials and resources have been make vs. buy, and contracts. There are several parts that we have been able to make in house which greatly reduces the risk. On occasion the department that would make the parts is too busy which required them to be produced externally. When that occurred, we would use contracts to complete the transaction. Finally, when choosing a vendor or supplier the company would have a list of approved organizations. These organizations have proven to be reliable and meet the companies various company requirements which also contributed to risk mitigation.   Real World Project Management Examples  The use of brainstorming, lessons learned, and the utilization of subject matter experts can be applied to almost each and every project management scenario.  The use of these three methods can help the team plan, procure and assess any risks for the project.  I do not have very much business exper
