SOC_100_Week_6_essay.docx SOC-100 Globalization The world that we live in an extremely immense place to live. There is a total of 195 countries in the world todayand with technology today, we are able to communicate with all of them on a daily basis. Globalization is basically the spread of products, information, jobs and technology across the borders of each country. œThe term œglobalization tends to conjure an image of something colossal andimmeasurable, a totalizing force that connects and integrates people across nations; yet the concept isalso placeless and deterritorialized in the sense that it refers not to a specific place but to abstractconditions and processes, (Jin& Roe, 2019, p. 2). œWith new factories come opportunities to develop skills, acquire technology, and accumulate a capital base from which local elites can launch their own factories, (Henslin, 2017, p. 256). Because of this, the standard of living in some of these countries is able to raise due to the new job opportunities. There are also some negative impacts as well. Globalization can create inequality within the nations as well as in the financial market. Global stratification is referring to the ranking of the people and groups created within different societies all around the world. Global stratification impacts the local culture due to all of the interchange within the countries. The interaction between all of the countries has caused some people change up their beliefs, traditions and cultural heritages
