It is also the first place where learning happens. Family is the one thing many count on for comfort, understanding, support, and strength. Therefore, we often go back to a patient™s family structure and dynamic for thorough assessments and plan of care to help in the patient™s long term and overall health throughout their lives.  McPherson Family Interview  Using Gordon™s 11 functional health patterns and family-based questions, assessments were made to it help assist in developing nursing diagnosis and interventions of family behaviors. œEleven patterns allow for organization of information of the current health and health management of the family (Green, 2018). These questions helped open dialogue with the family and with the data collection of this family (Functional Health Patters, 2013).
