Hobbs is a case that took place in 2015, the petitioner was inmate Gregory Houston Holt, also known as Abdul Maalik Muhammad, and the respondent was Ray Hobbs, Director of the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Holt was claiming that his first amendment rights were being violated by not being permitted to grow a beard in accordance with his religious faith that also is not supposed to be trimmed.
