NURS 6003 DWk2.docx  NURS-6003  Introduction  Embarking on this journey of becoming a nurse practitioner will certainly elevate my scope of practice as a nurse, add to my knowledge base, and help me fulfill a dream. Still, it will by no means be a solitary effort. To succeed, I must utilize several resources and networks to achieve my goals. Learning and growth can be attained by merely asking questions and expounding on prior knowledge to learn new material (Dewey, 2018). Therefore, I have three questions/concerns that I want to posit to my classmates to advance my learning, as they, too, are a part of my support network in the MSN program.   Question/Concern One  Throughout my entire nursing career and even prior when I was in nursing school, I have worked nightshift to support myself. Working overnight allowed me to be free during the day for class and my clinical requirements while still having a way to sustain myself and earn a living. When I started in nursing, it was natural for me to continue working overnight, as my body was already accustomed to this. However, there are many disadvantages to working overnight, and it can lead to things such as decreased sleep quality and heart health, but also increase the chances of depression, diabetes, and even cancer (Frisch, 2015). Limited sleep has a possibility of lowering clinical performance and it raises the probability of errors (Frisch, 2015). I find that this can be true in work, but also as it relates to my current MSN program. Lack
