Nurses can be found in various settings ranging from schools, prisons, hospice care settings, and/or hospitals. As such, nurses have a plethora of responsibilities including that of caregiver, for a broad-spectrum customer base, decision maker, communicator, teacher, manager of care, advocate, and leader. Nurses must now recognize and accept numerous professional roles including leadership in an effort to recommend, influence, and accentuate positive outcomes for change.  Purpose of Consultation and Overview of the Consultation Process  Nurses are innovators of change. Change may be proposed via a consultation. A consultation is intended to provide stakeholders, interested or invested parties and/or persons, an opportunity to offer advice, suggestions, and/or comments regarding plans that have been proposed or created by an organization€™s management team (Consultation Process). The goal of this document is to identify and propose a change method and/or improvement process to improve patient safety, adherence, and outcome measures at the Hershel €œWoody€ Williams VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Huntington, West Virginia.
