Human_services_report_.docx    Human Services Report on Child Abuse and Neglect  BSHS/ 407   University of Phoenix   Human Services Report on Child Abuse and Neglect   I was called in on July17, 2020 to report on a possible case of child abuse and neglect. During my initial interview, I looked for signs of possible abuse that could be categorized within the four levels of child abuse and mistreatment of a child. In order for me to assess if Jonathan has been a victim of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional/psychological abuse, or general neglect I utilized a technique that requires a series of open ended questions that made him feel comfortable enough to open up and begin to trust me more. Once trust had been established, I was able to get more information from Jonathan about his experiences. In meeting with Eight- year old Jonathan Martinez I was able to notice that he is a young bot who doesn™t understand his feelings and how to express them. In the forty-five minutes that we met, within our first conversation, I had noticed that Jonathan™s mood went from interested and engaged to frustration and anger when the building blocks he was playing with would tower over when he stacked them too high.   I had some difficulty understanding Jonathan when he spoke, upon further investigating and speaking to school officials I found out that his teacher and other school representatives have attempted on numerous occasions to set up an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meeting with Jonathans mother, Ms. Martin
