MAPA 5311: Term Paper: Legalization of Recreational Marijuana

Paper (100 points): o Analysis of an Emerging Issue or Challenge within Intergovernmental Relations o Write a paper that fully explores, explains and expands on the emerging discourse related on your choice of ONE of the below IR topics. You may use the essays from the AIR text to help frame your discussion.  Homeland Security (AIR Chapter 25)  Medicaid and Long-Term Care (AIR Chapter 26)  Medical and Recreational Marijuana (AIR Chapter 27)  Immigration (AIR Chapter 28)  National Health Care (AIR Chapter 29)  International Governance (AIR Chapter 24) o Expectation for the Paper: Write a ten-page paper with a minimum of ten (10) references. It must conform to the American Psychological Association (APA), as this is the most commonly used format for written works in our discipline. Per APA requirements, use of first person is not acceptable. The paper will have a cover sheet and work cited pages, which will not be included in the 10 pages. The cover sheet will not have a page number on it; therefore, pages will be numbered starting at page 2 (first page of the actual paper). The content of the paper must fill 10 pages. The paper will have 1” margins, double-spaced with a font not larger than 12 pt. or smaller than 10 pt., and paragraphs will be indented per APA style requirements. The paper will be uploaded into a “Turnitin” link established on the Blackboard for this class. In addition, the paper must be uploaded as a “Word” document, not as a PDF.
