Report on the experience of learning and using a game engine

Introduction Selection of Gaming Engine Learning the Game Engine Modifying the Prototype Conclusion The video gaming is becoming one of the most popular pastimes nowadays, competing with TV and m usic for free time. But not everyone seriously considers how games are made and how many different technologies goes into creation of a video game. Game development is a very complex process and is very hard to learn from the ground up, but with help of modern game engine anyone can create a game with some effort and time. For the Gaming Technologies and Systems module, I have taken up an assignment to learn a game engine and develop a prototype game. This report covers the process of selecting and learning a game engine, its underlying technologies and aspects, as well as creation of a prototype game and its outcomes.
