A chronic juvenile offender recently diagnosed as bi-polar and now medicated would need to be closely monitored, and a stay in a mental health facility for offenders would be the appropriate punishment for the juvenile offender. This would allow the juvenile to be monitored and make sure that they were following the treatment plan that was set up by the physician that was treating the juvenile and also allow opportunities to implement other means of therapy for the chronic juvenile offender.
