Organizational and Personal Values in Organizational Growth
Organizational values are very important when it comes to maintaining such a huge mission that Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie Medical Center (BSWH) has set for itself (“Motivating Employees,” 2017). Personal values that mirror the BSWH will ensure that there is not only a growth in spiritual but also ethical character. BSWH is founded on the principals of having a Christian based ministry of healing and healthcare. These types of values call for employees to be nothing short of the best and the type of employee that would continue to excel and improve in the environment (Baylor Scott & White: Differences Work For Us & Not Against Us, 2015).
Current Environment to Include Workforce Diversity and Needs Analysis
The workforce is changing every day and BSWH is at its birth of becoming a leader in the healthcare community (Baylor Scott & White Health, 2017). With the expedited growth and the mobility of human capital, people from many different locations have begun to make their way to the area. Different employees mean there is an increase of different needs, demands, cultures, and beliefs. Viability in these modern times means that organization have to do what they can to attract only the best talent, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or national origin, (American Hospital Association, 2004).
Mergers have become something of a “fad” amongst larger health care organizations and the leaders are aware a demand of new type of leadership. When BSWH merged in 2015, there was a huge change in management; two huge organizations had to learn to operate successfully as one. Leaders from both organizations, some who had been with the companies for years, had to adjust their idea of normal and lead their employees without flinching (Dixon, 2014).
