1. Start a MS Word document for your screen captures. Name your file Lab12.doc(x).
2. Browse to http://www.atomicsoftwaresolutions.com/download.php (http://www.atomicsoftwaresolutions.com/download.php) .
3. Download Honeybot and save.
4. Click Run, Next, I accept, Next, Next, Next.
5. Check Create desktop icon.
6. Click Next, Install, Finish.
7. Open a DOS command window, enter netstat –ano and return.
8. Do a full screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
9. Start Nessus 4. Use the policy you created earlier, and scan your machine.
10. Do a full screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
11. Click the Honeybot Start button. If you have more than one network interface card (NIC) in your computer, just select your current address on
the network. You can find your IP address in the DOS command window with the ipconfig command.
12. Do a full screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
13. Go back to the DOS command window and enter netstat –ano and return.
14. Do a full screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
15. Start Nessus 4. Use the policy you created earlier, and scan your machine with the honeybot running.
16. Do a full screen capture of the Nessus report and insert it into Lab12.doc.
17. Go to the Honeybot window, click on ports.
18. Do a screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
19. Go to the Honeybot window, click on remotes.
20. Do a screen capture and insert it into Lab12.doc.
21. Answer in your document: From the full screen captures, compute the time required for the Nessus scan without the honeybot running and
then again with the honeybot running.
22. Answer in your document: Explain the difference in these times.
