While removing access to could hurt the company and what it stands for, it would hurt even more to not provide their service the citizens of China. Google will still be able to provide much of the information it does in other countries. The biggest danger I can see in the current strategy is Google is giving up part of what makes Google, Google, Its freedom to information. This makes on think about what is exactly good or evil when it comes to censorship. Another concern is if you are willing to censor information for one country, China, what does that mean for other country™s? Are they going to want the same abilities? Companies who provide networking services like Cisco need to be concerned with what their equipment and services are being used for and what these services are censoring and filtering from the Chinese population. Although, Cisco maintains they are not participating in any government censorship in China, by allowing their equipment to be used in the censorship does cause some questions for concern. I would feel a sense of quilt and remorse if equipment I was supplying was being used for censorship and from allowing people to access information they want to access. Like with the Google situation, China is a huge market for Cisco and loosing the Chinese
