IT_320_7_1_Final_Project.docx    IT 3320  7-1 Final Project  Southern New Hampshire University    I was recently hired by ABC Manufacturing as a security consultant to identify security vulnerabilities, provide recommendations, and implement approved changes. ABC™s management team has provided you with access to their server networking environment. Prior to my onboarding the network was set up by a new technician, the network technician was unfamiliar with the firewall appliance and may have opened more ports than necessary. Only web services (HTTP and HTTPs) and map service (SMTP) should be allowed from outside of the network.   ABC Manufacturing has specific request. They wanted the firewall scanned to find open ports. Using the tools provided these are the results below:  The second request to check for software security presence. I found that an active firewall was in place. The firewall can be improved to harden up security measures. The network will need to be inspected for weak areas and secured to prevent unwanted access. The screen shots below show the findings  ABC Manufacturing request monitoring of traffic within the network. As we monitored the traffic using Wireshark, we saw that passwords are being displayed in plain text.
