She has always been a stellar employee but is returning to work with some residual physical disabilities brought on by her illness. These physical limitations include weakness on her left side and lingering sight issues that cannot be fully corrected with glasses or contact lenses. To make her transition back into the work field the following recommendation should be considered while setting up her new work environment. Technology Setup An intake clerk relies heavily on computer work and must often sit for long periods of time. With sight issues, she will have trouble staring at a monitor during interviews. The weakness that affects her left side will make prolonged sitting and typing on a keyboard difficult. * A Voice Recognition program will allow her to bypass much of the typing needed, but because of HIPAA regulations, (HIPAA for Professionals, 2020)these interviews should be done in an office or closed room to protect spoken personal information from being overheard by others. An audio headset would allow for quieter voice input to increase data privacy. * A cardreader to scan insurance cards and identification would greatly reduce the amount of physical work needed.
