There has been a complaint made from the suspects girlfriend about the suspect taking her cell phone, which is still missing according to the suspect. The initial purpose is to gain the information and detail the events of the date in question, such as the phone's location, who took it, who might have it now. The officer begins interviewing the suspect and establishing the details of the crime. Once it is apparent this suspect had committed several crimes, such as DUI, the officer then began to establish the motives. The suspect began to answer quickly and become more defensive. Through the progression of the interview the purpose for the interview has changed several times, with the final reason for this interview was then to gain the confession of the suspect. The officer maintained his friendly nature to keep the suspect talking. The suspect was also positioned near a door giving the sense of still having freedom, which most people quickly feel the loss of in the presence of law enforcement.
