These organizations further certain social causes and provide public benefits (Kenton, 2020). One specific social cause that needs more recognition is mental health. I have decided to establish a nonprofit organization called A Home for Healing. Our goal is to provide people of all ages and all backgrounds with accessible and affordable mental health resources to improve and enhance their everyday lives. We will provide mental health resources such as counseling in individual settings and group settings, and informational classes focused on educating the community about mental health disorders. Additionally, A Home for Healing will provide medical assistance for diagnosing and treating certain disorders. Our mission is:  A Home for Healing: To provide compassionate, individualized mental health resources to enhance your quality of life.  A Home for Healing will be located in Louisiana. Unfortunately, in recent years, Louisiana™s suicide rate has continually grown. As of 2017, Louisiana had a suicide rate of 15.26% which is higher than the national rate of 13.26%.
