IT190_assignment7.docx(1) IT 190 Assignment 7 IT 190 Network architectures are the way in which a network has been designed; they are classified in several different ways, including the distance between nodes, the way in which the network is managed, and the set of rules used to exchange data between network nodes. A PAN, or Personal Area Network, is a classification for a network connecting communication devices around an individual (typically within 10 meters). A PAN could include a computer, laptop, printer, smartphone, tablet, speakers, etc. A PAN can be either wireless or wired. This type of network would not reach far enough for the stores computers, and therefore would not be my recommendation. A LAN, or Local Area Network, is a classification for a series of communication devices in one physical location connected by Ethernet or Wi-Fi. HAN, or Home Area Network, is a type of LAN in the home. I would recommend this type of network for the store. A client/server network is a type of centrally administered network in which a server provides information and resources and the clients interact to accomplish tasks and make requests. A P2P network or Peer-to-Peer Network is a locally administered network on which every node on the network is equal to every other node and can communicate with everyother node directly.
