The macroenvironments are external factors which an organization doesnt have much control over such as laws and regulations, economy, technology, demographics or employees and consumers, and social values. Laws and regulations can affect a business with tax laws, new public policies, and trade rulings. The economic environment can affect the ability to function effectively, as well as the effect of the global stock market. Technology is rapidly changing, and most organizations wont succeed without new technology. Demographics include age, gender, race, education level, and income. The growing population  and immigration status are also relevant factors. Social Values are societal trends on behavior and thinking which can impact a managers decisions. How organizations respond to societal problems often impact consumer response. The competitive environmental elements are within  an organizations immediate environment such as rivals, new entrants, customers, products, and suppliers.
