However, that is not the case. Juveniles are anyone under the age of 18. Depending on the severity of the crime committed, they do have a chance to be tried as an adult. As we progress, I will compare and contrast5 different portions of the court systems. This will include the following: plea bargaining, court proceedings, right against self-incrimination, rehabilitation efforts and due process.   Plea Bargaining  The largest similarity is that juveniles and adults have the right to a plea bargain.Both plea bargains are completed in a formal manner where they plead guilty or not guilty. For most cases, those who are guilty are convinced to voluntarily agree to the resolution offered by the officials. This is so they do not risk potential for harsher consequences. For juvenile court plea bargaining is not something that is not necessarily done (similarities and differences in juvenile). This is due to not involving lengthy trials or long sentences. When it comes to adults,they all have the right to a plea bargain. This gives them right to go before a jury. This is where another difference comes into play.   Court Proceedings  As a juvenile depending on the severity of the crime, one can be tried as an adult. Whereas adults are just tried as they are.
