The officers are used to the overtime and grievances filed show that it will create financial hardship amongst them. Anger is not the correct way to handle this situation, it will only result in more problems. 2.Poor work ethic is spreading amongst the department following the Mayors overtime cutback announcement. The poor work ethic is affecting integrity, teamwork, quality of work with the threats of high absenteeism and writing warnings instead of traffic tickets is being perceived as poor work ethic. 3.City Management perceives the current police force as having a lack of cooperation. The officers threatened to retaliate with a strike and/or not train the recruits properly. City management needs the department to cooperate to eliminate a strike or have improperly trained recruits. B.Short term outcomes 1.A strike may be immanent already, this could leave us with many untrained rookie Officers forced to patrol the city without proper training which could result in catastrophic consequences on both the community and city management. The department may be able to come to an agreement with the current force before the new overtime cuts come into play. 2.The new force may receive poor training or a lack of instruction during their required year of on the job duty training if an agreement is not made.
