Texto & Contexto Enfermagem, 25(1), 1.  Background or Introduction  This study was aimed to assess the act of communication during shift change report based on exchanging information verbally and non-verbally and sharing experiences.  Review of the Literature  The researchers in this study cited 25 articles that they used to support their research. The topics of these articles include importance of verbal shift handover report, incorporating bedside reporting into change-of-shift practice, and communication during patient hand-overs.   Data Analysis  During this research descriptive statistical analysis, Pearsons Chi-Square, Kolmogorovo-Smirnov, Levenes homology, and Students t-test was used. The t-test were developed in SPSS 17.0.   Discussion of Methodology  The inclusion criteria of the participants was to be a nursing team professional working on that unit or who had moved to the unit more than a month earlier, professionals who had already adapted to the unit routines, and professionals that were not on leave or off during the research.
