MGT 330 Week 5 Discussion 2  MGT 330 Week 5 Discussion 2  There are five management functions and they incldue planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. As things change and evolve these functions will also have to be alter to fit the current state of the business world. Of the five functions I believe the control function will experince the least amount of change over the next decade. The control funciton deals with performance, measuing it, compairing it to the set standards, and then taking action to reward of correct performance. The four steps involved in the control function will basically stay the same. The methods by which performance is measured and how mangers reward or correct performance may change but “performance measures will contine to operate on three main levels” (Baack, Minnick, & Reilly, 2014).   Over the next decade the function I feel is going to expericne the most amount of change is the staffing function. Staffing is “the achievement of organizational goals through the effective and efficent deployment of people” (Baack, Minncik, & Reilly, 2014). With the advancements in technology the way we select employees will change. Interviews, orientation, and traning can all be done virtually. This means that people can work from home, from another state, even from another country. Also, now companies are becoming more diversified which means that ethics trainings will have to be introducred during the orientation process. Aside from diversification and technology
