JTP TASK 1.docx JTP TASK 1 Becoming an Effective Leader C203 Throughout my organization, I have able to observe multiple leaders in multiple roles. Majority of the leaders leadership style did not change. However, one leader did. Christina came in as a center manager for my team. Her and I did not see eye to eye as she was a micromanager and if things were not done her way then it was wrong, and I was a very independent worker who was always on the go. Christinas leadership style was autocratic. She made all the decisions and believed that the team would comply with her choices. She asserted authority, and, in her eyes, she believed she was a model for the team. During this time, she held a coercive power and she held a debasement influence over the team as she would insult the teams ability to complete the tasks at hand. She is a transactional leader. She thrives off results and believes that everyone could be a star employee. She conforms to the existing organization structure as well as measure successes through the organizations system of rewards and penalties. She focused on the negative aspect and did not provide motivation for the team. There is a difference between the theories of leadership. The three leadership theories are transactional, charismatic and transformational leadership.
