The first hospital, a US Navy Hospital tasked with services military personnel and their dependents.  The second hospital, a VA Medical Center (VAMC), provided care for local citizens that once served in the armed forces. The  merger led to the MSC Federal Health Center is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense (DoD), integrating all medical care into a federal health care facility with a single combined mission  of patient-centered care. MSC is comprised of eight community based clinics in addition to the main health facility.  ï‚·What type of organization is it?  Approximately how many employees work there in various roles? MSC is similar to many other government structures, in that division officers report to department heads.
